One of Our Best Days!

Filed under: Relationships — Larry James @ 7:00 am

I can always, if I want to, find something in today that wasn’t there yesterday that makes today “one of my best days!” Sometimes I really have to look hard and long to find it. When I decide to really pay attention, I can always find something good.

What would you think if when you said, “How are you doing?” someone answered, “This is one of my best days!”?

I don’t know about you but my curiosity would get the better of me. I would want to know just what it was that had it be one of their best days. It seems to me this could open up a very positive and constructive conversation.

I tested this idea recently when I saw one of the managers of a hotel in the hallway. She asked me how I was doing and I said, “This is one of my best days!”

It’s easy to say that when things are going well. That day was truly one of my best days. Everything I touched turned to gold. I was on cloud nine.

She wanted to know what made it one of my best days, so I told her. I was glad she asked.

As my friend listened, I could see her becoming excited for me. Before we were through talking we were both charged up about the conversation. She was smiling and interacting with me in a way I had never experienced before. I was happy she was interested in hearing about my good news. You would have thought that it all happened to her.

I was moved to think that if couples in a love relationship would only look for the one thing each day that made their relationship special for that day, what a difference that might make!

What if, at the end of the day, you are talking with your love partner and you both could share that this day has been truly “one of our best days!”? The very idea promotes positive momentum.

I can think of a lot of good reasons for getting involved in this kind of conversation. I cannot come up with one good reason not to. Can you imagine how good it will feel to be able to share fully and concentrate mostly on the events of the day that had it be great for both of you?

If you are always looking for the good that makes life better, you will surely always find it. You will also be motivated to do more of what makes life great together.

Have a specific intention to initiate this kind of conversation with your lover. Exploring the things that make your relationship special can only assist you both in developing a stronger commitment to doing the things necessary to always have something good to talk about. It will draw you closer together.

When you look at your relationship carefully, you can always find plenty to work on. Never repress the things that happen that make the relationship not so great. Talk about them. Mutually decide what you can both do to make things better. Always working to make things better, noticing the efforts of your love partner and cherishing the results is what contributes to making up. . .

“This is one of our best days!”

Positive words build positive momentum in your love relationship.
